Outreach Events

The theme of the study day is Politics & Protest. Students will take part in academic workshops focusing on different periods of history to explore this theme from different perspectives.

Students will also get the chance to learn more about admissions, chat to current students, tour Mansfield, and have (free) lunch in our dining hall.

Applications will open in the next couple of weeks. Please complete our application form by noon Friday 14 February. Applicants will be notified about the outcome of their application by Friday 21 February.

The study day, including lunch, is completely free. Contributions towards your travel costs may be available, especially for those travelling further distances.

Those travelling further distances can also access free overnight accommodation the night before the study day.

The study day is open to Year 12 students attending a state school in the UK who are interested in studying History at university. You must be studying History at A Level or equivalent.

If a large number of applications are received, applicants’ grades will be considered alongside other criteria, with priority given to those who will be the first in their families to go to university, are receiving or have received Free School Meals, are or have been in care, and/or those who live in an area which has a low progression to higher education.

You will stay in College, in a student bedroom, just like an Oxford student would. You will get breakfast, lunch, and dinner served in the dining hall.

The residential, including accommodation and food, is free of charge. Travel bursaries will be available.

Yes! We will have Mansfield student ambassadors on hand to answer any questions you may have.

The residential is open to Year 12 students attending a state school in Yorkshire & the Humber who are interested in studying one of the following subjects: Computer Science, Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, Physics. You should be on track to achieve A*AA/A*A*A (depending on the course) or equivalent.
