Application conferences

Each year Mansfield runs several regional Application Conferences, aimed at providing Year 12 students, staff and parents/carers with information about studying at Oxford and making a competitive application.  The conferences are open to students from state schools and colleges in Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Doncaster, East Riding, Greenwich, Hull, North Lincolnshire, North-East Lincolnshire, and York.

The conference is designed to give prospective Oxford and Cambridge applicants an insight into the application process.  The sessions will cover an overview of the admissions cycle, information about what we’re looking for in the personal statement, an explanation of the aptitude tests, and advice and guidance about the interview process.

At the end of the conference there will be a Parents and Carers Talk and Q&A.

Our 2024 Application Conferences have now finished. Details and booking forms for our 2025 Application Conferences will be uploaded in the new year.

Humanities Study Day

Mansfield College collaborated with Oxford’s Faculty of History, Faculty of Theology and Religion, and Mansfield’s own English tutor Lucinda Rumsey, to host a Humanities Study Day for Year 12 UK state school students in March 2o24.

The theme of the study day was ‘Monster Hunt: an exploration of monsters through time and in texts’. Students took part in multiple academic workshops from different humanities subjects to explore this theme from different perspectives.

Students also got the chance to learn more about admissions, chat to current students, tour Mansfield, and have (free) lunch in our dining hall.

Please keep an eye out on this page for future study days!
