Mansfield College Chapel

One of the largest Chapels in Oxford

Mansfield College Chapel is a well-loved spaced that’s central to Mansfield life – used every day by students, staff, and Fellows. With an inclusive ethos, the work and outreach of the College Chapel is committed to ecumenical worship where everyone is welcome, celebrated, and affirmed.

Service times

Mansfield College Chapel is an inclusive space where everyone is welcome and all are celebrated and affirmed. Students and staff are encouraged to participate in all aspects of worship which is always ecumenical in its nature. If you are interested in reading or leading prayers, please contact the Chaplain.

Services take place at 18:15 on Wednesday evenings, with members of the public invited to attend.

Our College Chaplain

Nathan Mulcock is our College Chaplain and part of the welfare team. He supports and serves the whole community at Mansfield. Whether in consideration of relationships, work or study difficulties, spiritual or vocational issues, or for casual discussion – the Chaplain is available to speak with staff and students at any time, no matter their faith or philosophy.

Please email chaplain@mansfield.ox.ac.uk to arrange a time.

Chapel choir and music

We have an active choir that’s open to all and performs at chapel services. Chapel services may also include music contributions from Mansfield students and staff – you’re very welcome to share your talents with the Mansfield community in this way.

About Mansfield’s Chaplaincy

Mansfield College has its roots in the Nonconformist tradition of the Church. The chaplaincy continues in that tradition, challenging and responding to the needs of the community in which it lives – celebrating the diversity of Mansfield College, celebrating the sacred in our midst. The chaplaincy also holds special discussion groups such as Queer Spirituality, and Table Talks on Social Justice issues. You can find out more about these meetings in the Virtual Quad, Mansfield’s weekly student newsletter during termtime.
