AHRC CDP Studentship – Growing Up Queer: 1790-1918

Applications are now open for an AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) award, a collaborative doctoral studentship between Mansfield College and the Faculty of History, University of Oxford,  and Museum of Home, London.

This fully-funded studentship is available from October 2024.

Adam von Trott Scholarship

Next available for entry: 2024

Awarded to a German national accepted to read for the two-year MPhil degree in Politics (European Politics & Society, Theory of Politics, Comparative Government), or in International Relations. The scholarship is only open to new students (rather than those already on-course) who have previously been funded by the Studienstiftung.

Kofi Annan Scholarships

From 2020, Mansfield has partnered with the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme to offer, for the next 5 years, seven new fully-funded Kofi Annan Scholarships at Mansfield per academic year.  Our Kofi Annan Scholars will be part of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann graduate programme, which aims to provide outstanding university graduates and professionals from developing and emerging economies with the opportunity to pursue study at Oxford.

Elfan Rees Scholarship

Next available for entry: 2024

The College awards the Elfan Rees scholarship once every four years, alternately in Theology/Religion, and Politics, tenable at Mansfield for two years. The award is made in memory of Dr Elfan Rees, who was Adviser on Refugee Affairs to the World Council of Churches on International Affairs and was Dale Lecturer at Mansfield College from 1974 to 1975.

The next award will be in 2024 in Theology and is open to candidates who are currently studying or who will be studying at Oxford University towards a higher degree in that field from October 2020.  The scholarship is conditional upon transfer to Mansfield College if the candidate is not already a member.

Jon Blanchard Studentship

Next available for entry: 2024

Thanks to generous donor support and in partnership with the Faculty of English, Mansfield will offer one studentship a year for three years (2024-5, 2025-6, 2026-7) to fund new Home-fee postgraduates taking any one-year post-1550 MSt. strands in English.  The studentship is established in memory of the late Jon Blanchard, former student in English and Mansfield alum.  Award-holders will become members of Mansfield College.

Alastair McBain International Human Rights Law Scholarship

Next available for entry: 2024

From 2023-24 onwards, Mansfield will offer one scholarship each year to support students undertaking the two-year part-time MSc in International Human Rights Law.  The scholarship was established through a generous donation from the McBain Family Charitable Foundation, and is aimed to support human rights advocates who can demonstrate exceptional academic merit and/or potential.   Further information about this course and application details can be found at the University’s MSc in International Human Rights Law page.

Mastercard Foundation Africa Oxford Scholarship

Mansfield College is delighted to host and support scholars selected for the prestigious Mastercard Foundation Africa Oxford Scholarship.   The scholarship programme helps give outstanding African graduates the opportunity to undertake a fully funded Masters degree at Oxford.  Thanks to support from our donors, we plan to offer up to four AfOx scholarships in 2024 for new students taking one-year courses across the Humanities and in particular Social Sciences subjects (Politics / International Development and Education).  For further details on the scholarship, please visit the dedicated webpage.
