Thank you to our 2019 Leavers

The Mansfield Leavers’ Gift was first started in 2012, when Mansfield finalists made a gift in final battels towards new benches in the Quad. 

Since then, the Mansfield Leavers’ Gift has become a tradition at College, with subsequent year groups of JCR, MCR and VSP leavers coming together to support projects which will benefit future generations of Mansfielders.

Last year’s leavers broke the record when a fantastic 77% of the year group supported their chosen project. Following a number of suggestions from the leavers, and by popular vote, it was decided that the 2019 Leavers’ Gift would be put towards a new covered bike shelter for College. As cycling is a big part of living in Oxford and a popular choice of transport for our students, putting donations towards Mansfield’s first covered bike shelter seemed a fitting option.

Huge thanks to everyone who made a £20.19 donation to help make this project a reality. Given the recent wet weather in Oxford, the new shelter couldn’t have arrived at a more helpful time.

A plaque to thank the 2019 leavers for their support will be installed on the new shelter soon.
