We are delighted to share the news that Dr Eileen Tipoe has been award the Social Sciences 2020 Divisional Teaching Excellence Award (Early Career) in recognition of her outstanding contribution to teaching and learning and the academic development of students within the Department of Economics and the Division.

Eileen’s research looks at applied microeconomics and econometrics, and her contributing role to the CORE Project, both to develop existing initiatives and to establish new initiatives, such as ‘Doing Economics’ impressed the Division’s Quality Assurance Committee.

Professor Margaret Steven’s commented that “Eileen was both the inspiration and the lead author; other CORE participants watched in awe as she brought the project to fruition with a combination of sheer hard work, efficiency, technical expertise, and most importantly her creative approach to helping students learn.”

The Committee also felt Eileen’s contribution to developing an inclusive economics curriculum at Oxford was highly valuable, along with her dedication to improving her own professional practice.

We hope you will join us in wishing Eileen many congratulations on her Divisional Teaching Excellence Award.
