Bell Burnell discovered the first four radio pulsars as a postgraduate student in the late 1960’s, a discovery that has been described by one of her colleagues as “the greatest astronomical discovery of the 20th century.” She received the IOP President’s Medal in July in recognition for her “outstanding contributions to physics.”

The portraits will be on display until 7th January 2018. Free admission.
