New MCBC Boat Named

Recently we asked friends and supporters of Mansfield College Boat Club (MCBC) to submit naming suggestions for the new men’s (M1) boat. Thank you to everyone who got involved.

After a vote by MCBC rowers, we are delighted to announce that the boat has been named ‘Carol Mahony’. Carol was wife to late Mike Mahony who was pivotal in the founding of MCBC in 1965. Carol Mahony (now Greatorex) has been a supporter ever since.

“This is to recognise Carol’s significant links with the boat club, and all she has done for us over the years.”
