We were delighted to hold a welcome event in late October for the 2021-22 cohort of Kofi Annan scholars of the Weidenfeld-Hoffman graduate programme at Mansfield College.

These fully-funded scholarships have been named in honour of Kofi Annan, a figure whose name provides inspiration and honour to those in receipt of it, and which reflects the intended purpose of the scholarships – educating people to make the world a better place. Through these scholarships, our College aims to inspire and transform the world view of the recipients in a similar way to Kofi Annan’s recounting of his experience as a student at Macalester College.

We welcomed the 7 new scholars at a hybrid event at which were joined in person by Mr Jan Fischer, Mansfield alumnus, whose generous support has made the Scholarships a possibility, Jane Baldwin Programmes Manager at the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust. We were delighted to be joined be Kofi Annan’s widow Mrs Nane Annan and Corrinne Momal-Vanian, Executive Director of the Kofi Annan Foundation online.

A fantastic evening was held by all!
