Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland, Australia. First run in 2008, 3MT® has grown to become a global competition, with universities around the world holding their own events. The exercise challenges doctoral students to present a compelling talk on their thesis topic and its significance in just 180 seconds.

Mansfield College is proud to congratulate its graduate student, Amirmohammad Farzaneh (DPhil Engineering Science, 2020) on winning the runner-up Prize in MPLS‘ Three Minute Thesis Competition 2024.

Amirmohammad delivered his talk titled ‘How to pack your network’, which is based on his thesis, ‘an information-theoretic approach on the complexity and compression of networks topologies
