Mansfield Principal celebrates 75th anniversary of the first women appointed King’s Counsel

Mansfield College is delighted to congratulate alumnus Chris Bryant (English, 1980) on his knighthood. Chris is Chair of the Commons Committees on Standards and Privileges, he previously served in government as Deputy Leader of the House of Commons from 2008 to 2009 and Under-Secretary of State for Europe and Asia from 2009 to 2010. A member of the Labour Party, he has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Rhondda in Wales since 2001.

In a video statement, Chris pledged to use this honour to renew his commitment to his many causes which include: his constituency in Rhondda; a national strategy for acquired brain injury and protection for people with skin cancer; championing human rights across the world; uphold the highest possible standards in parliament and in journalism.
