Looking for a fun, family-friendly activity? Mansfield’s Chaplain, Sarah Farrow, has you covered. Sarah will show you how to make your very own origami crane. 

6 pm: Online reunion with alumni and fellows
Where: Zoom
Today we are delighted to be joined by Dr Tony Lemon, Professor Derek McCormack and Dr Pam Berry; Dr Helen Lacey and Dr Peter Bergamin, and Lucinda Rumsey; and Professor Ros Ballaster, Professor Michèle Mendelssohn and Professor Kate Flint.

Bring your own drink and enjoy a catch up with some of your Mansfield friends and tutors.

 

Tuesday 27 October

11.30am: Pumpkin Soup Making
Where: YouTube Channel
Carving your own Mansfield-themed pumpkins? Why not also try our IT Manager’s ‘waste not want not’ pumpkin soup? Have a go at Greg Jennings’ favourite recipe, which will be available as a ‘tutorial’ on our YouTube Channel from 11.30am, on Tuesday 27 October.

Today we are delighted to be joined by Dr Janet Dyson and Professor Colin Please; and Professor Michael Freeden and Dr Gail Leckie. Bring your own drink and enjoy a catch up with some your Mansfield friends and tutors.

9 pm: Photography competition closes
Send us your photo on the theme of ‘We Are Mansfield’ before 9pm on Tuesday, to enter our Community Week Photography Competition. Perhaps dig out your favourite photo from your time at Mansfield or interpret the theme in any way you see fit. Send your photo, along with its title or caption, to development@mansfield.ox.ac.uk before 9pm (UK time) on Tuesday 27 October.

The winning photos from the ‘alumni’, ‘staff’ and ‘student’ categories will be decided by a special guest judge, and announced at 11am on Thursday 29 October. The winning photos will be published in this year’s Mansfield Magazine.

 

Wednesday 28 October

9am: 36-hour Giving Day starts
Where: On-site, online and via our social media channels
Follow our current students, Fellows and staff online, as they complete socially distanced Giving Day challenges, including 1,886 laps of the Quad in 36 hours and a 12-hour Erg challenge!

Our aim is to raise funds to support Mansfield and its students in what is an exceptionally difficult year.
 

Thursday 29 October

9pm: Mansfield’s first ever Community Week and Giving Day concludes!
After 36-hours of challenges and a week of activities, hear from our Principal at the close of Giving Day.
 

Throughout the week

We want to see your creations! Create your own ‘slice’ of Mansfield with a College-themed bake, make your own cardboard College, carve a College pumpkin or share your Mansfield sketches (don’t forget to share photos of your creations with us via email or on social media, using the hashtag #WeAreMansfield.

How many times can you climb the College Tower? Get active during Community Week & Giving Day, and let us know how many times you can climb Mansfield Tower’s 80 steps from home.
