Art, Memory, and Humanity: Poetry Reading and Discussion with Grzegorz Kwiatkowski and Peter Constantine

Date: 29/11/2024

Time: 16:00 - 17:00

Location: Sir Joseph Hotung Auditorium

Join Polish poet, musician, and activist Grzegorz Kwiatkowski, alongside his translator, Peter Constantine, for an afternoon of poetry and dialogue. This event will feature readings from Kwiatkowski’s collection “Crops” as well as selections from his forthcoming book “Without an Orchestra”.  Both works delve into themes of historical trauma and the ongoing fight for human rights. The discussion will explore the ethical responsibilities of art in the face of atrocities, offering insights into Kwiatkowski’s minimalist yet searingly impactful style. This is an opportunity to engage with the work of an artist who intertwines literature and activism, using poetry as a tool to confront hate, remember the silenced, and inspire change.
