College Life

Mansfield can be the centre of your student life – with events and facilities for socialising, entertainment, sports, music, and drama. You’ll make friends quickly, with many opportunities to add to and enjoy both College and University life. Mansfield is also known for our central location, beautiful architecture, and our outstanding quality of teaching.

All undergraduates, postgraduates and visiting students at Mansfield belong to either the Junior Common Room (JCR) or the Middle Common Room (MCR). The JCR and MCR and the College’s version of a Students’ Union – both representing their members, while also providing a space to relax, unwind, and socialise.

The important stuff

We aim to provide the books you’ll need for your tutorial work, complementing the diverse range of resources available elsewhere in Oxford University. Our main libraries and reading rooms are open 24/7 for current Mansfield members.

As a warm and welcoming College we offer a wide range of wellbeing and welfare support to our students. Our dedicated Welfare team offers space to listen, talk, and help with any concerns you may have.

Mansfield has some of the best food in the University, and at reasonable prices. Although there’s no obligation to eat in the College Dining Hall, students are encouraged to do so. Lunch and dinner are served in the Dining Hall and most meals are cafeteria style.

Mansfield has beautiful libraries, a Chapel, and study spaces on one of the best sites in Oxford. We’re just a short walk from the major humanities libraries, science blocks and the Bodleian Library – as well as Oxford city centre.
