Recognising your Gift
We are passionate about acknowledging and recognising the invaluable contributions made by alumni and friends in support of the ongoing success of Mansfield, both as a College and as a University.
Mansfield’s five tiers of benefaction come with different levels of engagement with the life of College:
Bancroft Fellows
Those making gifts of £500,000 or more over their lifetime are invited to become a Bancroft Fellow, the highest philanthropic honour Mansfield can bestow. In addition to public recognition at College and in our publications, Bancroft Fellows enjoy Senior Common Room dining rights at College.
The Mansfield Court
Donors of £100,000 or more are invited to join The Mansfield Court, a tier of benefaction which includes invitations to all special events at College, inclusion in College publications and regular communications from the Principal.
Guardians
Donors who have made gifts of £60,000 over their lifetime, Guardians receive invitations to many of our special events at College, are included in College publications and regular communications from the Principal.
The Fairbairn Society
Donors who have made gifts of £25,000 or more over their lifetime receive complimentary entry to our annual alumni event and commemorative service each year, as well as being included in College publications and regular communications from the Principal.
Patrons
Patrons support College with donations totalling £6,000 or more over their lifetime. Patrons are invited to the annual Christmas carol service with wine and mince pies and posted a copy of the College magazine. Those who have donated in that calendar year are included in the donor recognition pages of the College magazine.
The Constance Coltman Circle
The Constance Coltman Circle recognises regular donors who have set up a recurring donation of £600 per year or above, as well as some of our most long-standing regular supporters. Donors have the opportunity to leave their name and a message to students on a bookplate in a College Library book. Donors are also invited to supporter events.
In addition to this the University also offer the following benefactor recognition:
University of Oxford: Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors
The Chancellor invites the University’s most significant supporters to become members of the prestigious Court of Benefactors. The Court meets each autumn in Oxford and offers benefactors the chance to engage with the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and other senior leaders, within the collegiate University. These meetings also allow benefactors to meet other members of the Court and to gain a greater understanding of the life and work of the University and the colleges.
University of Oxford: Vice Chancellor’s Circle
The Vice-Chancellor’s Circle recognises individuals, foundations and corporate benefactors who have provided generous support to the collegiate University. Members receive regular communications from the Vice-Chancellor and senior officers and are invited to an annual members' event in the spring.
