In Memoriam: Professor Pamela Anderson
Our condolences are extended to the family, friends and students of Professor Pamela Sue Anderson
Professor Pamela Anderson who died last Sunday (12 March) was a distinguished philosopher who specialised in the philosophy of religion, feminist and continental philosophy. She was official Fellow, Tutor in Philosophy and Christian Ethics and Women’s Adviser of Regents Park College at the University of Oxford. She was educated at Yale University and Mansfield College, Oxford.
Pamela had been terminally ill with cancer for the last two years, battling with the illness with great courage. Her Service of Thanksgiving celebrating her life, is due to be held at Mansfield College Chapel on Saturday 18th March at 1pm.
Having read two postgraduate degrees here, she was always very attached to this Oxford College and wished that Mansfield could be the venue for celebrating her life. It is a privilege and an honour to see that her wish is granted.
Our condolences are extended to all her family, friends and students.
The Rev'd Canon John Ovenden, Chaplain of Mansfield College.
Pamela leaves behind a student-support fund, the ‘Pamela Sue Anderson Studentship for the Encouragement of the Place of Women in Philosophy’.
