Mansfield Alumni Association
All alumni of the College are members of the Mansfield College Association.
In addition Honorary Membership may be offered to individuals who have shown particular interest in and support for the College or the Association. SCR Members may also join the Association.
The objects of the Association are:
To maintain a close association amongst past members of the College and to develop a community of alumni who can offer support to students, graduates and the College as a whole by contributing their skills and expertise and ensuring input from alumni into the College’s development plans.
- To support activities of alumni, both as a whole and more discrete groups (e.g., subject, year, interest, location) and to facilitate the exchange of news and information amongst alumni and between the College and alumni.
To support the provision of social and other events involving alumni, in conjunction with the College as appropriate.
- To support the College in its efforts to raise funds and find other resources to underpin the College’s development.
In practice this means working closely with the College’s Alumni Relations and Development Office to support networking and communication, participation in College events, organisation of special events and activities for alumni. In addition the Association is able to provide some financial support for specific projects and for student support. Details of current support are given here.
The Association is managed by a Committee made up of elected members with the Principal, one other Representative of the College (currently Lucinda Rumsey, Senior Tutor) and the Director of Development (Helen Jones). The Committee normally meets three times per year to transact business, with formal reports and elections at an Annual General Meeting held on the same day in June that the Commemoration, Annual Garden Party and Association Dinner are held.
