On Tuesday, May 1st, at 6pm in the College Chapel, there will be a selected reading and talk from the playwright Bernard Adams about the upcoming production of his play Killing Hitler.
The play tells the story of Adam von Trott, Rhodes Scholar and conspirator in the July Plot to assassinate Hitler. The script is taken from real documents, diaries and letters. This talk offers a fascinating insight into the everyday lives of the people swept up in the extraordinary events of the Second World War, and the ramifications that a single man's convictions can have on those around him.
This will be a fascinating opportunity to find out more about the extraordinary, real lives of those involved in the July Plot, and of one of the most enduring figures amongst Mansfield's alumni.
The play is to be staged at Keble College's O'Reilly Theatre in mid-May - please visit this link to book tickets.
